Choosing the right soccer cleats for the right surface
There are so many types and designs of soccer shoes that it can be confusing to buy one. The fact is that while one pair might be perfect under certain conditions, it can be problematic or even dangerous to use in another. Even when you buy adidas youth soccer cleats, you need to pick the right pair for the surface. Here is how:
Firm surfaces
When you play on natural grass pitches with solid ground that doesn’t get too much rain, then you need firm ground shoes. Firm ground shoes come with ten stud points which can be either the rounded conical studs or the longer thinner blade studs. Blade studs are not as flexible as conical studs so only use it if you need additional traction. According to Soccer Garage, you can use firm ground shoes on turf fields with the long synthetic grass blades and rubber pellets.
Soft surfaces
For softer surfaces that get a lot of rain and have lots of mud, get a soft ground show. Unlike the firm ground shoes, soft ground shoes have only six studs. However, these studs are placed strategically to provide more traction. There are four blades on the front and two at the back of the shoe.
Hard surfaces
Unlike the soft and firm ground shoes, hard ground shoes do not have studs or blades. Instead, the entire bottom surface of the shoe is covered in small flat studs for better traction on hard surfaces that have lost almost all the grass cover. Hard ground shoes do not dig into the ground.
